Derek Bastille, Group Leader for the Enterprise Tools and Reports group at ARSC (Artic Region Supercomputing Center) will present an overview of ARSC’s systems and services with a summary on getting an ARSC account.
ARSC is home to Midnight, a 2312-processor SUN cluster that is available to University of Hawaii researchers. Attend this seminar to find out how to access Midnight, and also to hear about the new systems that will be coming online soon. The seminar is free, and use of ARSC is free to UH faculty, staff, and students.
Derek Bastille, along with Jamie Marschner, is also responsible for maintaining user and group accounts. He has been with the center for over 10 years with most of that time as a Help Desk User Consultant. Derek has a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. The 30 minute presentation on March 27 in Webster 204, beginning at 11:00 a.m., is free to all UH faculty, staff and students. Although the presentation will be originating from Alaska, questions will be answered in real-time through the Access Grid.
