Celebrate Reading: Book Clubs & Literature Festival

Read authors listed on Celebrate Reading's flyer (www.hawaii.edu/hwp)and be celebrated as a reader who enjoys discussing novels, short stories, poetry or memoir with other readers and with the writers.
On April 12, from 9 till 2, our Campus Center and Kuykendall Hall will host a free literature festival celebrating 21 writers and featuring 17 guest authors.
Our MC Kealoha will introduce the opening reading by Cynthia Kadohata, Jim Lynch, Sage U'ilani Takehiro and Hawaiian story-teller Jon Osorio. Three 45-minute intergenerational conversations with the authors follow, and a closing reading/performance by Graham Salisbury, Lee Tonouchi and Brenda Kwon.
Our schedule lists twelve concurrent break-out sessions meeting at 10:00, 10:55 and 12:30, including writing workshops.
Join one of our two cross-disciplinary weekly literature circles (Monday at 12:30 at Campus Center, and Tuesday at 11:30 at the Kuykendall Courtyard) at which the books are supplied and members discuss their pleasure-reading over lunch.
