Earth Day Celebration

Sustainable Saunders will host Sustainability Fest in honor of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa’s 7th annual Earth Day celebration on Friday, April 18, 2008. Open to the public, this free event kicks-off at 11 a.m. with an open-air marketplace and culminates with an evening concert celebration from 5-11 p.m. The festivities will take place on the Hawai‘i Hall Lawn on the Manoa campus.
Enjoy 12 hours of live music and performances including Makana, Millicent Cummings, Pressure Drop, Quadraphonix, and Go Jimmy Go. Browse art and plant sales, technology demos, educational booths and de-clutter at our recycling drive. UH Manoa students can participate in a scavenger hunt to win a balsam wood surf board, electric bike, solar back pack and more. Come network with emerging businesses, politicians and community organizations at the forefront of the sustainability movement while enjoying great food.
The event is sponsored by the Associated Students at the University of Hawai‘i (ASUH) and Waste Management of Hawaii.
Sustainable Saunders is an initiative at UH Manoa to evolve Saunders Hall into a model of sustainability for the campus, Hawai‘i, and beyond.
