Social Networking: Engaging Your Students Within and Beyond the Classroom Walls
April 29, 2:30pm - 4:00pmHonolulu Campus, 7-421
MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr. You’ve heard of them. You know your students are on them. The first half of this workshop gives a quick overview of MySpace and Facebook, the two most popular Social Networking sites for college students on the Web. We’ll go over Social Networking and how you can leverage it to help enhance both your availability to service your students as well as how to enhance your classroom teaching. Student users of both services will be on hand to discuss ways in which THEY would like to see there instructor’s using MySpace or Facebook to reach out to them.
The second half of the workshop gives an overview of YouTube and Flickr and discusses ways that educators have tapped into these two valuable video and photo sharing social networking sites to enhance learning in their classroom.
