Stars of the Pharaohs
May 9, 7:00pm - 8:00pmWindward Campus, Hale Hokulani (Imaginarium)
Audiences will be taken back 6,000 years to the land of ancient Egypt and the stars in its desert skies.
The Imaginarium’s multi-media show reenacts the mythological creation of the Egyptian universe and discusses the celestial connections of the many pyramids that stand sentinel to its ancient history.
Learn how the Sun, Orion and the ancient Pole Star were used to align Egypt’s monumental temples and pyramids. Journey through this ancient culture to see the earliest calendar ever devised, based on the rising of the star Sirius and its ability to predict the annual flooding of the Nile River.
“Stars of the Pharaohs,” originally produced by the Buhl Planetarium, has been modified by the Imaginarium to include visually rich graphics.
