Biosafety with Risk Assessment

This workshop is designed for Biosafety Level Two and Three Laboratory facilities. Safety and security officers, laboratorians, biosafety committee members and others who work in or collaborate with those working in these laboratories will benefit from participation in this workshop.

This workshop will address biosafety issues in BSL-2 and BSL-3 Laboratories. Topics will include overview of the principles of biosafety, operation of biological safety cabinets, and how to conduct a biosafety risk assessment, and risk mitigation approaches. The workshop will briefly address the impact of biosafety on engineering controls and requirements.
