Clark Little, Artist In Residence
February 21, 2008 - June 26, 2008Honolulu Campus, Native Hawaiian Center Bldg 7-432
Clark Little grew up on the North Shore of O'ahu and made his name as the pioneer of surfing the Waimea shorebreak. Clark had a unique talent for taking off on hopeless crunchers, getting launched and surviving in perhaps the nastiest shorebreak in the world.
After Clark stepped away from the incredible thrill of going big at Waimea, he realized that he longed to be back in his element. Clark returned to various North Shore breaks to capture the beauty and power of these monstrous waves from the inside out. What he has achieved through the lens of his camera are images never seen by those who reside on land.
The Artist In Residence program at Honolulu Community Colleges Native Hawaiian Center is intended to provide our students, faculty and community stakeholders with opportunities for cultural enrichment; student development and retention; alternative faculty teaching resources; support of native Hawaiian artists; and our ongoing efforts to create a warm and inviting environment for our students.
