The 18th Kipapa i ke Ala lecture will feature Richard A. Moran, Ph.D. Moran is a venture capitalist, social scientist, bestselling author and evangelist for organizational effectiveness. He is best known for his series of bestselling books including: Never Confuse A Memo with Reality; Cancel the Meetings, Keep the Doughnuts, and; Nuts, Bolts and Jolts.

Moran’s work is derived from his observations in the venture world as a Partner at Venrock, as a Partner at Accenture, and a lifetime of trying to improve the effectiveness of organizations. Moran was the former Chairman of Portal Software, now part of Oracle, and serves on the Board of Glu Mobile Games, TurnHere, and CrossLoop as well as advisor to several startups. He is the Chair of the Audit Committee of the Noyce Foundation, and serves on the Board of the National Association of Corporate Directors. He earned an A.B. at Rutgers College; M.S. at Indiana University; and Ph.D. at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He is the CEO of Moran Manor Vineyards (www.moranmanor.com).
