Between Musical Worlds: A Composer's Guide to the 21st Century.
Composer Donald Reid Womack's music has been heard on five continents. He spent a year in Tokyo on a Fulbright Research grant, where he worked extensively with Japanese instruments. A faculty member at UHM since 1994, he serves as professor of composition and theory. Dr. Womack will play and discuss several of his works combining the structural development of Western Classical music, the rhythmic energy of rock music, and the sound of Japanese instruments.
