Public Health Faculty Colloquium Series
January 29, 12:00pm - 1:00pmManoa Campus, Biomedical Sciences Building, D207
Please join the Office of Public Health Studies for a presentation by Nancy Partika, RN, MPH, "A Hawaii Case Study on Interconception Care for Women on Quest/Medicaid."
Quest/Medicaid is a crucial source of health coverage for low-income pregnant women and their infants. In 2007, Partika undertook a study of PRAMS data, along with colleagues, Dr. Van Ta (DPHS-UHM) and Dr. Donald Hayes (State DOH), to determine whether or not Hawaii women on Quest/Medicaid have more adverse outcomes in terms of differences in risk factors and other health outcomes, compared to women with other health insurance.
This presentation explores the extent to which women on Quest/Medicaid may be at increased risk for adverse perinatal health outcomes, and the public policy discussions that have occurred as a result on this issue.
