Featured Speaker: Ian Bond, Political Counsellor, Foreign and Security Policy Group, British Embassy, Washington, D.C.

Ian Bond joined the British Embassy in Washington in September 2007 and is serving as Political Counsellor and Co-Head of the Foreign and Security Policy Group, working on Europe, Former Soviet Union, Asia, Africa, Latin America and International Organisations.

Prior to his arrival in Washington he served as British Ambassador to the Republic of Latvia (2005-2007) and Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission for the United Kingdom Delegation to the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, based in Vienna (2000-2004). He also served as Deputy Head for the Eastern Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (1997-2000) and Head of the NATO Section in the Security Policy Department (1990-1993). Bond joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1984.
