Lecture by Didier Lenglare
Until recently, French Polynesians, traditionally attached to orality, were the subjects of literature written by foreigners. For more than a generation now, Tahitians have been writing about themselves and their societies using the French language. What are the main issues raised by this emerging literature?
A specialist in Francophone literature of the Pacific, Didier Lenglare teaches French at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
