Meet the Founder of Engineers Without Borders

Engineers Without Borders University of Hawai'i student chapter, Honolulu Professionals chapter, and the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa College of Engineering invite you to come learn how engineers are rising to the forefront of humanitarian assistance as we host the Founding President of Engineers Without Borders—USA, Dr. Bernard Amadei, for a presentation and reception.

Dr. Amadei is the Faculty Director of the Mortenson Center in Engineering for Developing Communities at the University of Colorado at Boulder and holds the Mortenson Endowed Chair in Global Engineering. He is also the co-founder of the Engineers Without Borders-International network. Among other distinctions, Dr. Amadei is the 2007 co-recipient of the Heinz Award for the Environment, the recipient of the 2008 ENR Award of Excellence, and an elected member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Amadei' s work has been featured on National Public Radio, PBS NewsHour, and TIME (US). He is also currently working on his third book entitled “Engineering With Soul.”

You are invited to come meet Dr. Amadei on Tuesday, June 23rd from 6 to 8:30 PM at the Center For Hawaiian Studies on the UH Mānoa campus.
