Sustainable Burial Practices
June 27, 10:00am - 12:00pmManoa Campus, Architecture Auditorium
Going green isn't just for the living. Common burial practices that include embalming, metals, concrete, and caskets that refuse to biodegrade- damage our environment. It's estimated that every year, enough metal is used for coffins and vault linings to rebuild the Golden Gate Bridge! There are more natural and green alternatives that can be far less costly.
Come and learn how we can make burial practices sustainable, and what you can do to be a part of the solution.
Sarah Robinson, Funeral Consumer`s Alliance (FCA) of Hawai‘i. FCA is a non-profit consumer education organization, dedicated to protecting a consumer`s right to choose a meaningful, dignified, and affordable funeral (www.funerals.org).
