United Nations Exhibit

October 19, 2009 - November 1, 2009
Mānoa Campus, Sinclair Library Heritage Room

In celebration of the United Nations Day [October 24th], the UHM Library is hosting a United Nations Exhibit in Sinclair Library’s Heritage Reading Room. The posters in the exhibit are from the UHM Library’s Government Documents Collection, which is an official depository library for United Nations documents and publications. The Collection receives the Official Records of the General Assembly, Economic and Social Council, and the Security Council, as well as yearbooks, statistical series, monographs and periodicals distributed by U.N. offices in New York, Geneva and Vienna. The Collection also receives selected English-language publications from U.N. regional commissions, such as the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and the Economic Commission for Europe.

Included in this United Nations Day exhibit are posters that highlight several of the themes that are important to the U.N. and its affiliated agencies such as Education, Human Rights, Poverty & Hunger, War & Peace, and Women’s Issues.

The Heritage Reading Room in Sinclair is open to the public during business hours. We hope you will visit the display to look for your country’s flag and read about the U.N. programs.

Please also join us for the Film Series that focuses on human rights and the U.N. The film schedule is posted on the UHM Library’s website:
