NREM Seminar - Michael E. Winter, Ph.D

October 11, 3:30pm - 4:15pm
Mānoa Campus, St. John 11

Title: "Fusing Multispectral and Hyperspectral Images for Improved Land Classification"

Abstract:

Dr. Winter has over ten years of experience as a professional researcher in Mathematical Geophysics. While at the University of Hawai’i, he was the principal scientist in an NGA University Initiative to perform fast material identification. Since moving to private industry, he has developed numerous hyperspectral software tools in C++ and IDL for delivery to customers at the Department of Energy, Navy Air Force, Army and NGA. He is currently supporting the TRA Navy SBIR to develop a user-friendly software package for the application of hyperspectral and multispectral data to targeting. He led the effort to develop the CRISP sensor fusion package on our Phase II Air Force SBIR and has been working with the Naval research Lab on the application of CRISP to oceanographic applications. In addition, he has published numerous technical papers for SPIE, IEEE, IGARSS and other technical conferences.
