East-West Ceramics Collaboration V

The East-West Ceramics Collaboration V, The Pacific Rim, brings together ceramics professionals from diverse traditions who will convene for four weeks (July 11-August 5) to produce work for an exhibition to be held at the Department of Art and Art History Gallery in Fall 2011 (October 23 - December 7). The 14 participating artists represent Australia, Canada , Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, New Zealand, People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Thailand, and the USA.

As part of the program, there will be four evenings of public slide presentations by the visiting artists and an Open House for visitors to view and discuss the work in progress with the visiting artists.

Shown here is the sculpture, Matrix III, by Sin-ying Ho, originally from Hong Kong, now a faculty member at Queens College.
