"Healthy People, Healthy Plants: Book Publishing that Supports International Development" by Rachel Cutts, Commissioning Editor, CAB Internatoinal, Wallingford, Oxfordshire.

Rachel Cutts, who has been at CABI since 2006 and the Commissioning Editor since 2010, publishes books aimed at students, practitioners and researchers. She is visiting the university to meet academics and to discuss information needs, research trends, and develop new book ideas.

CABI publishes academic books and databases in the life sciences, including infectious diseases, parasitology, microbiology, public health, global health and human nutrition. Being not-for-profit, their publishing funds projects in developing countries that tackle crop pests and other threats to food security. This talk will provide insights into CABI’s growing book programme, as well as provide information for prospective authors and anyone wanting to know more about academic book publishing.
