Public Health Movie Night is this week!

The movie will be “Release our Water,” which will be shown at 5:30 at Hālau O Haumea at the Kamakakūokalani “Release Our Water is a story of a native people struggling to maintain their traditional way of life amid ongoing depletion of their natural resources. The producers traveled throughout East Maui, a region whose population is 5/8ths Native Hawaiian. There, they interviewed people deeply concerned over the depletion of their natural resources – chief among them, water.” Shown at the Center for Hawaiian Studies on the UH Mānoa Campus.

The movie will be followed by a discussion that will include panelists Camille Kalama from the Native Hawaiian Legal Corp. & Charlie Reppun, a kalo famer & community organizer from Waiāhole, O'ahu.

We will have light snacks. Please invite anyone you think would be interested to come join us.
