Department of Physics and Astronomy Colloquium: Prof. J. D. Bjorken, Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, to speak on "History of the Standard Model as Seen from SLAC."

Abstract:
This talk is adapted from one given at a memorial symposium in honor of Wolfgang K. H. Panofsky, the founding director of the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The review covers a golden age of particle physics, which occurred during his tenure as laboratory director, from 1961 to 1984.
