Image and Ethics with Tom Brislin, Colin Macdonald and David Ulrich

March 3, 9:00am - 12:00pm
Mānoa Campus, Kuykendall 313

Are you concerned about image manipulation and its impact on our perception of reality? The digital age allows for multiple forms of image manipulation and sharing, from Photoshop to Facebook and from electronic creativity to electronic piracy. In and out of the electronic darkroom, we can dodge, burn, and blur the ethical boundaries of creating, changing, cheating and stealing images. Participate in a lively conversation that explores the cutting — humorous and harming — edges of digital image manipulation. Examine the ethical issues surrounding all aspects of digital image making, from fine art to journalism to advertising, to assist participants in developing informed and ethical decisions towards image manipulation and usage.
