2nd Eisa Drum Festival

Enjoy live music under the stars at the 2nd Eisa Drum Festival at Kapiolani Community College on May 12 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Food sales will begin at 5 p.m. The event is FREE and open to the public. The Eisa Drum festival seeks to celebrate and develop an appreciation for this special form of drumming and dance unique to Okinawa. The festival will feature the largest gathering of Eisa drummers in Hawaii.The Shisa (Okinawan Lion Dogs)and special guest performer, and acclaimed choreographer/director Daiichi Hirata will be participating in the event. Parking is free. You may bring lawn chairs to sit on, blankets and jackets. Alcohol is strictly prohibited.
