May 22, 11:00am - 1:00pmManoa Campus, East West Center John A. Burns Hall
Nineteen young environmental leaders, selected by U.S. Embassies in Burma, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand, are concluding their three-week journey in the Hawaiian Islands in search of solutions to our collective environmental challenges. At this event, they share what they’ve found.
How can seawater air-conditioning work for Manila? Can GMO research in Hawaii inform Burma’s new policies? Do koa forest reforestation efforts apply to Malaysia? These young leaders, mentored by UH students from the Environmental Center, will demonstrate how they’ll take lessons back home to create positive eco-tipping points and fuel green movements in their home communities.
Join us for an inspiring showcase of solutions and stories.
