Asian American and Pacific Islander Research Coalition (ARC) Symposium

On October 3rd-4th, the Educational Administration Department (EDEA) and the Student, Equity, Excellence and Diversity (SEED) Offices at the University of Hawai‘i at MÄnoa (UHM), and the Higher Education Student Association are co-sponsoring a pre-symposium and symposium that will be focused on Asian American and Pacific Islander research and issues in education. During these events, a national coalition of Asian American and Pacific Islander scholars from the mainland and the Pacific will meet in Honolulu to present recent research on current issues in Asian American and Pacific Islander education. The researchers will also engage in discussions about conducting research on critical issues in Asian American and Pacific Islander education.
The pre-symposium will be focused specifically on Filipino and Pacific Islander issues in education and take place in the Campus Center Executive Dining Room from 11am-4:30pm on October 3rd. The symposium will be focused on Asian American and Pacific Islander research and issues in education and take place from 1:00-4:25pm on October 4th in the Center for Korean Studies auditorium at UHM. The October 4th symposium will also be followed by a poster presentation session and reception in the Queen Liliuokalani Center (QLC, Rooms 411 and 412) from 5:00-6:30pm.
