Pacific Islands Climate Science Center Inaugural Lecture

October 26, 1:30pm - 3:00pm
Mānoa Campus, Kuykendall Auditorium

The Pacific Islands Climate Science Center (PICSC) is a new collaborative initiative of the US Department of Interior, UH Manoa, UH Hilo and the University of Guam. The PICSC is one of a network of 8 regional climate science centers recently established by the Department of Interior to serve the scientific needs of managers as they deal with wildlife habitats and ecosystems in a changing climate.

The PICSC is pleased to present the first in a regular series of lectures at UH Manoa about stakeholder-driven science related to Pacific climate and ecology.

The lecture "Navigating Change: Climate Science and Collaboration in the Pacific" will be presented by Loyal Mehrhoff, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and Deanna Spooner, Pacific Islands Climate Change Cooperative.

This inaugural lecture will be preceded by a short description of the status and plans for the PICSC and of opportunities it will provide for researchers at UH and our partner institutions.
