Pathway to Graduate School

Attend the Pathway to Graduate School Seminar, hosted by the Honors Student Organization and co-sponsored by Kaplan Test Prep and UHAA, to learn about the next step of your academic career.

The seminar starts with a general session on what to consider when thinking about a post baccalaureate degree, followed by breakout sessions for each academic track (law, medical, business or graduate school). The day ends with a workshop on how to write a personal statement to accompany your admissions application. All events are free and open to the public.

Heed the factors involved in deciding on graduate school

Hear graduate admissions representatives from UH Mānoa, UH Hilo, Hawai‘i Pacific University and Chaminade University speak about their application process and degree offerings

Find out about the top five tips for successfully applying to graduate school

11:30 a.m. – Insiders (breakout sessions): Law, Business, Medical, Graduate School

Attend an Insider to increase your knowledge about the competitive admissions process

Hear tips on establishing a realistic application timeline

Reduce your anxiety about preparing for the entrance exam (LSAT, GMAT, MCAT, GRE)

Panelists will include the graduate school's admissions officer, current students and recent graduates

12:45 p.m. – Refreshments

1:15 p.m. – Personal Statement Workshop

Learn how to write a winning personal statement that will get the attention of admissions officers Review a sample personal statement

Visitor parking: $6 flat rate fee in visitor parking lots.

Registration is preferred but not required.
