Danzig in the 1920s/1930s. Oskar Matzerath, son of a local dealer, is a most unusual boy. Equipped with a fully developed intellect right at birth, he decides on his third birthday not to grow up, seeing world events unfold on the eve of World War II. Through his tin drum, he protests the passivity of his family and neighbors in Nazi Germany.

Based on the novel by Günter Grass.

In German with English sub-titles.
