2013 IPRC Public Lecture in Climate Science

Dr. William Chameides, Dean of Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment, will present the 2013 IPRC Public Lecture "Dealing With Climate Change: Are We Flying Blind?".
A distinguished atmospheric chemist, Dr. Chameides has combined more than 30 years in academia as a professor, researcher, teacher, and mentor with a 3-year stint in the nonprofit world as the chief scientist of the Environmental Defense Fund. He was the vice chair of America’s Climate Choices, a multidisciplinary study by the National Academies launched in November 2008 at the request of Congress to provide policy-relevant advice to guide the nation’s response to climate change. Dr. Chameides is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a fellow of the American Geophysical Union, and a recipient of the American Geophysical Union’s MacElwane Award.
