2013 Match Day

March 15, 7:00am - 8:30am
Mānoa Campus, 651 Ilalo Street Medical Education Building

It’s Match Day 2013—where 4th-year medical students around the country simultaneously open envelopes to learn where in the USA a computer has “matched” them to begin their careers as MDs in training.

The MD Class of 2013, opening their envelopes in a ceremony starting at 7 a.m. at JABSOM, will receive their MD degrees in May. They’ve spent a lot of travel time this year (on their own dimes) interviewing at medical centers around the country to apply for their post-MD “Residency” training slots. Hawai`i also has residency slots (just not for ALL specialties---so some of our students will have to begin their careers on the US Mainland, while others stay here, and some US Mainland grads get “matched” here, too.)
