Motivations for Pursuing a PhD

Kaiwipunikauikawēkiu Lipe is a mother, wife, daughter, grandaughter, sister, hula dancer, and a Native Hawaiian doctoral candidate in Educational Administration at the College of Education, UH Mānoa. She was previously the director of the Native Hawaiian Scholars Program at College Connections Hawaiʻi and an academic advisor for the Kawaihuelani Center for Hawaiian Language. Kaiwipuni will share stories on her motivations for pursuing her degree and selecting her research topic and the process by which she has done that.
