Inside the Ethnic Studies Studio...Featuring H+ (Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory)

October 1, 12:00pm - 1:15pm
Mānoa Campus, Architecture 101A

This presentation will feature members of H+, the Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory. Founded by hip-hop dance luminary, philanthropist, educator and choreographer Safi A. Thomas, the Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory [H+] is a world-renowned institution for higher learning in dance education centered on hip-hop dance as an art-form. As the only conservatory for the art-form in the United States (housed in New York City), their primary focus is to provide an alternate trajectory for dancers seeking to stay true to the art's foundations as well as pursue a career in the art. The presenters will talk about H+, their experiences and art, and the ongoing National Dance Week Hawai‘i.
