This talk by Dr. Sylvia Tidey offers reflections on resistance from a transgender Islamic boarding school. Dr. Tidey will focus on the various ways in which Indonesian Muslim waria (transgender women) incorporate religion in to their everyday lives. Syliva Tidey is a postdoctoral researcher at the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (University of Amsterdam).
