Free Public Lecture: Lighting, Sound and Video Design with Brian Shevelenko

May 1, 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Mānoa Campus, Krauss Hall 12

I don't get it. You flip a switch and the lights come on. What's there to design? with Brian Shevelenko

Many theatre goers have little experience with all the work required to put a show on the stage. Much of this work is done by people you do not see when you come to the performance. In fact, even many performers have little understanding of the work that's going on around them while on stage. This talk goes over some of the technology and design aspects of modern theatrical entertainment, specifically focused on Lighting, Sound, and Video Design.

Brian Shevelenko is an assistant professor in the UH Theatre and Dance department. His areas of focus are Lighting, Sound, Projections and Special Effects. Brian holds an MFA in Theatrical Lighting Design and has an extensive professional background, including many years as a freelance designer and several years with Disneyland Resorts and Disney's Imagineering.
