Drum Workshop with Noel Okimoto

This workshop will focus on "Rhythm Discovery through the American "drum set". Take a journey exploring "rhythm from the perspective of one of America's greatest contributions to modern music, the drum set. From jazz, through Rock and Roll, embrace world influences, have fun grooving, and beating on some drums. Noel Okimoto is an award winning jazz musician who has received positive reviews in national and international publications and an accomplished drummer and orchestral percussionist. He has played in Hawaii, the mainland USA, and internationally with the Woody Herman Orchestra, Stan Getz, Barney Kessel, Sadao Watanabe, Wynton Marsalis, Henry Mancini, Nelson Riddle, Rosemary Clooney, Dionne Warwick, and Jake Shimabukuro, among others. Come study with Hawai'i's premier drummer.
