Pieces of Napoleon Blownapart

Jan Dickey presents "Pieces of Napoleon Blownapart," a room-sized flash fiction story about a doomed collection of material objects once possessed by the legendary Napoleon Blownapart. Conglomerates of polymers, minerals, fibers, and other substances from the Capitalocene era will be held on display for two weeks in the Commons Gallery with accompanying wall text.

Dickey received his BFA from the University of Delaware and currently is an MFA candidate at the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa. He also completed a year of training in traditional draftsmanship at the Academy of Classical Design (Southern Pines, NC). Dickey has had solo exhibitions at the Louise Jones Brown Gallery (Duke University) and the sanctuary of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Chapel Hill. He has exhibited in New York, Delaware, North Carolina,and Hawaiʻi and was a recipient of the North Carolina Regional Artist Project Grant.
