Conversational Japanese - High Elementary

Course participants will study Japanese expressions and structures that are useful in everyday conversation. In addition to formal language instruction, classes include presentations of some of the cultural aspects of Japan and frequent conversation practice with speakers of Japanese. Participants will find a relaxed atmosphere in which they are encouraged to have fun experimenting with new Japanese expressions.

High Elementary starts from lesson 1 of Japanese for Busy People, Vol II.

Reina Hirose Horton was born in Honolulu and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She received her BA from Waseda University, where she studied Political science and also received a MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Hawaii Pacific University. She teaches Japanese to adult and young learners. Her current interests include motivation in language acquisition and the connection between language and identity.
