March 5, 2019 - March 6, 2019
Mānoa Campus, Center for Korean Studies

This two-day symposium will feature three Zainichi speakers: Dr. Kyung Hee Ha of Meiji University and Dr. Hyewon Song of Osaka University of Economics and Law (Tuesday) and poet Ri-bak Kim (Wednesday). The program will conclude with a panel discussion Wednesday. The term Zainichi refers largely to ethnic Koreans who have permanent residency status in Japan or who have become Japanese citizens and whose immigration to Japan originated before 1945 or who are descendants of those immigrants.
