Eta Sigma Delta Tourism Viewpoints Series
November 15, 5:30pm - 8:00pmMānoa Campus, George Hall Sunset Reference Center
The tourism industry provides many benefits for tourism destinations including job creation, revenue generation, and improved infrastructure. However, along with its many benefits, tourism is also known to create negative social, cultural, and environmental concerns. For this series, we will be showing the award-winning short film. "And then there were none." The film shares the story of colonization in Hawaii and the changes that came with statehood and increased tourism. Following the film, Kainoa Daines, the Senior Director of Destination Education at Hawai'i Visitors & Convention Bureau, will lead a group discussion about the film and solutions we as future leaders in the tourism industry can do to remedy the current challenges of the destination and the tourism industry. We hope you can join us for this fun and educational film and discussion. Date: Friday, November 15, 2024 Time: 5:30 PM Location: Sunset Reference Center Sign up here! Food and refreshments will be provided!
