Camaron Miyamoto, UHM LGBT Student Services

Chancellor’s Meeting Room, Campus Center 212 (Enter via Student Lounge)

The Safe Zone Training Program raises awareness of LGBTI issues on campus and sharpens skills of allies to help end harassment. Ally participants receive a poster to display to indicate that they are part of a professional network of student support.

Message from Chancellor Rockne Freitas
I encourage all of our students, faculty, and staff to attend these training sessions that will help to advance our campus as a welcoming and inclusive environment. A campus community that is informed about fostering healthy relationships and aware of domestic violence will allow UH West Oahu to continue to be a safe zone for everyone. – Chancellor Rockne Freitas

"What's Love?" workshop series

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and National Coming Out Month. The planning group for the "What's Love?" event felt the responsibility to coordinate and provide students, staff and faculty with training workshops opportunities to fostering healthy and positive relationships, creating safe places "safezones" on campus, and being an inclusive and mindful member of the UHWO campus community.
