Brown Bag Lectures: Un/becoming Children and Poetry

April 7, 2:00pm - 3:00pm
West O‘ahu Campus, D238

This event consists of presentations by Assistant Professors of English Carmen Nolte-Odhiambo and David Nandi Odhiambo. Dr. Nolte-Odhiambo's talk, "Unbecoming Children in Hawai'i," examines literary representations of unbecoming settler-of-color children grappling with national belonging and questions of home on the Indigenous lands of Hawai‘i. Dr. Odhiambo's presentation features a reading from "(un)becoming," a collection of poems that explores ideas about becoming through unbecoming in the African Diaspora.
