LeisureThe Leisure Program is now part of Student Recreation Services located at lower campus.

The Leisure Program was designed to provide students and the community with a variety of activities that would compliment the academic experience. Established in 1953, the Leisure Program continues to provide quality activities ranging from arts and crafts to outdoor recreation. The programs provided are all reasonably priced (with an additional discount to students) as are the various equipment that can be rented.

Approximately 6,000 individuals participate annually in the Leisure Program, 60% students and 40% non-students. All our classes are non-credit and geared strictly to zero-stress learning and fun. It is the intention of the program to provide quality programming for everyone—feel free to visit and explore the possibilities that we provide for you.

Staff
The Leisure Program is operated with one full-time staff member and approximately 40 part-time students and teachers. Andrew Johnson, Assistant Director of the program is also the coach of the Varsity Sailing Team. His professional credentials include a BA in Recreation Management from UH, a professional diploma in elementary education, and a Captain's License issued by the Coast Guard.
