UH Manoa ID Cards

Obtaining an ID Card

All new, incoming students and faculty/staff are entitled to one University of Hawai'i ID card at no charge. Each type of ID card is specific to the individual's status at the University and entitles the cardholder to certain university privileges and benefits. Any holds or financial obligations must be cleared before an ID card will be issued.

Any ID with Social Security Number may be exchanged for an ID with UH number FREE of charge.

Student ID cards need to be "validated" each semester that the student is enrolled. To obtain validation, students will need to pay their current semester tuition and fees in full, and have any obligations or holds cleared from their record. Students who have been awarded and accepted financial aid are eligible to get their IDs validated. Check your MyUH Portal account status for payment status and information on holds.

All ID cards are issued at the Campus Center Ticket, Information & ID Office. We are conveniently located in the heart of campus---Campus Center 212, near Subway.

ID cards are issued during our normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, except on holidays.

ID card applications are also available at our office. Please be sure to bring: a valid photo ID (driver's license, state ID w/expiration date, passport, etc.) in order for us to issue your UH ID.

Replacement ID Cards

If your ID card is lost or stolen, a replacement ID card can be issued. There is a replacement fee of $15.00 assessed for all ID cards that need to be re-issued. A new ID application and a lost/stolen ID affidavit is required along with a photo ID. A stolen ID may be replaced after furnihsing the original copy of the police/campus security incident report.

ID Applications

Student

All University of Hawai'i at Manoa full- and part-time students are entitled to one free UH Student ID card. These IDs are issued to students registered at the Manoa campus and who pay student fees. The ID card is validated for each semester the student is enrolled UH Manoa.

To obtain validation, students will need to pay their current semester tuition and fees in full. Students who have been awarded and accepted financial aid are eligible to get their IDs validated. Check your MyUH Portal account status for payment status and information on holds.

Requirements:

  • Current semester tuition and fees paid in full
  • All holds cleared (e.g. academic, library fines, parking tickets, Student Health, etc.)
  • For new, ID application must be filled out completely and submitted along with a valid photo ID (driver's license, state ID w/expiration, passport, etc.)
  • For replacements, also include a lost/stolen ID affidavit

Faculty/Staff

All full-time University of Hawai'i at M?noa faculty and staff are entitled to one free UH Faculty/Staff ID card. The ID card is issued for the duration of employment. Faculty and staff who enroll in classes will not be eligible for a student ID.

Requirements:

  • Must be a faculty or staff member of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa
  • Faculty/Staff application must be filled out completely and authorized by the appropriate administrative or personnel representative
  • A valid photo ID (driver's license, state ID w/expiration, passport, etc.) must be presented at time of application
  • Lost or stolen cards are assessed a $15.00 replacement fee
  • To obtain a replacement for a lost or stolen card another faculty/staff application needs to be presented and a $15.00 replacement fee will be charged.

Guest

GUEST ID cards may be issued to individuals enrolled in specific programs that require access to UH facilities for less than 120 days. These programs must be sponsored by a UH department and require prior approval before an ID card can be issued. All GUEST IDs are assessed a fee of $5.00, due at the time the ID is issued. The GUEST ID will be issued on the date the program begins and will be valid for the duration of the program.

The GUEST ID card expires on the date printed on the front of the card. Expired ID cards are renewable following the process below.

Cards will be processed following a memorandum from the department on the authorized participants in their respective programs. Memos should include the following information: full name of participant, ID number (e.g. Social Security Number, Passport Number, UH number, if available), duration of stay, and the reason for needing a GUEST ID. IDs will be issued after approval of the ID Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Photo identification (driver's license, state ID w/expiration, passport, etc.)
  • GUEST ID memo request from department and approved by ID Manager or Supervisor
    • Request must be submitted 3 working days prior
  • Payment of $5.00 fee
