Involvement with the AC is for you if you're interested in planning and implementing campus activities. As one of Manoa's main programming bodies, AC enriches the campus social life and the educational experience through concerts, speakers, special presentations, as well as a variety of cultural, social, recreational, and academic programs.

Some of the transferable skills you'll acquire . . .

  • designing, planning, and developing programs, from concept to event. You'll learn how to budget for and book an event, troubleshoot and problem solve, arrange for publicity and marketing, and advise and oversee the event.
  • negotiating contracts with on-campus and off-campus vendors
  • honing your general leadership skills: managing your time, setting priorities and sticking to a schedule or time line, communicating effectively with a variety of people, following through on all the details of an event, being flexible yet responsible.
Time commitment required: 30 hours/month (5 hours/week for office hours plus regular meetings).
