SAPFB is for you if you're interested in serving on an 11-member board that makes recommendations to the Vice President of Student Affairs regarding the allocation of the student activity and program fees that support event and projects created by student clubs and organizations and UHM departments and programs.

Some of the transferable skills you'll acquire according to current SAPFB members . . .

  • learning what leadership means - responsibility, dedication, taking the initiative
  • being organized -managing time, prioritizing and setting schedules and goals
  • communicating, which means listening as well as contributing; learning how to be heard in a diverse group
  • delegating - taking the lead to volunteer first and model involvement
  • improving social skills by working with different personalities, dealing with various problems; meeting new people and making new friends
  • stepping out of one's comfort zone
Time commitment required: 2 hours/month.
