When can I register for the classes?

You can register for the class anytime before it begins while seats are available.

Can I register online?

No, you are not able to register online at the moment.

Can you mail me a registration form?

The registration form is available for download as a text document and PDF. The waiver must be completed and signed by the participant. You may also mail us the completed registration form with a check made out the "University of Hawaii" for your class.

Can I pay with a credit card?

Yes. We take VISA and MasterCard only.

Can I still pay the student rate if I am not taking any classes from UHM right now?

If you are a continuing UH student, you qualify to pay the student rate. If you are UH faculty or staff, you must pay the community rate.

Can I sign up for my spouse/friend/relative?

Yes. You can pay for them when you register yourself. We require any additional persons to stop by the office to sign the waiver form.

Are there any requirements for the classes?

All of the classes are for beginners, except the Intermediate level classes. The Intermediate classes require you to take the beginner level or obtain permission from the instructor. All water based programs require basic swimming ability.

What happens if the class is cancelled?

If the class you signed up and paid for is cancelled, we will inform you of the cancellation. You can choose to transfer to a different session of the same class, transfer to a different class within the same category (i.e., Arts & Crafts, Outdoor Recreation or Health & Fitness) or get a complete refund. If you choose to recieve a refund, please bring your original receipt to the office to speed up the refund process.

Can my son/daughter take the class with me?

You will need to participate in the class with your son/daughter. If your son/daughter is under 18 years old, we'll need your signature on the his/her waiver form. Your son/daughter must be at least 16 years of age to take the Outdoor Recreation classes.

Can I sit in for the first day of class to see if I like it?

You will need to get the approval from the instructor. Please call us and leave your contact number. We will have the instructor call you.

Where can I park?

There are meter parking along Metcalf St. and University Ave. You will not need to feed the meter after 6:00pm. You can also park in the parking lot for $3.00 flat rate.

I would like to teach a class at the Leisure Programs, what should I do?

Please stop by the office to pick up a Course Proposal or give us your address so we can mail it to you. Complete the Course Proposal and provide all the information we need. We will contact you as soon as possible.
