Prior to becoming Director of HBMP, Barbara (Annie) was faculty in the Geography & Environmental Studies Department at University of Hawai‘i at Hilo. She is also an Assistant Researcher within the Center for Conservation Research and Training at University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, and is active in several projects involving GIS/remote sensing methodologies. Barbara's expertise/research interests include: studying earth system interactions using remote sensing and GIS technologies; earth system science education, and regional climatology. Her research sites include Hawai‘i and the Pacific Basin.
