Moana Class Teacher, 4's & 5's

Many people have asked me about how I, as a man, decided to pursue a career in early education. In short, my parents are both teachers, along with much of my family, and they have imparted upon me a passion for education and a clear picture of why it is important. I was born and raised in Hawai‘i graduating from Punahou high school and the University of Hawai‘i with a degree in Art Photography, throughout which, I have continually worked in the field of education and taken early education classes. I worked at Punahou’s after school program for four years, taught at the UH summer science program, and worked as an assistant teacher for three years at a small private preschool in Kaimuki. My focus with children tends to favor the cultivation of creativity in all areas their lives, from drawing and painting, to conversation and storytelling, to physical movement, I love seeing what is unique in each child. I truly believe that we learn at least as much from the children as we teach, and that is what excites me about this field.
