The CIS program has limited financial resources under its direct control. Most of its resources, including financial aid for students, are derived from the four participating programs. Presently one graduate assistantship, assigned to assisting the chair in running the program, is allocated directly to CIS. A graduate assistantship includes a tuition waiver and health benefits as well as a stipend. For more info, please visit our Assistantships page.

Each year we also receive a moderate amount of tuition scholarship funds. These are applicable only to tuition costs.

East-West Center Opportunities

The East-West Center administers a number of graduate fellowships for students from the United States, Asia, and the Pacific to participate in educational and research programs in residence at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
