UH Students Attend Geography Conference in Japan

UHM Students attended the International Geographical Union meeting in Kyoto, August 4-9, 2013.
Ben Schrager (Geography MA) reported his MA research: “Seeds from Paradise: The Rise of Hawaii’s Seed Corn Industry.”
Nika Nashiro (Political Science MA) summarized her MA research about her home in Okinawa: “Deconstruction of Base Town.”
David Nguyen (Planning Ph.D.) surveyed his MA and Ph.D. research on island sustainability:  “Re-imagining Okinawa Prefecture’s Frontier.”
