The Japan-America Society of Hawaii and the Crown Prince Akihito Scholarship Foundation invited current and past Akihito scholarship recipients to attend the 37th JASH Annual Dinner on October 10, 2013.  Guests included current Akihito scholarship recipients from Japan Yukie Michelle Lloyd, seeking a vaccine for Dengue at John Burns School of Medicine, and Sakiko Yasuda, studying child dental health in Public Health.  Former U.S. recipients attending were Sharon Fukayama, 2010 scholar in the College of Education, and Dr. Gay Satsuma, Associate Director of the Center for Japanese Studies.  UH Foundation Board Chairman Ronald Ho and UH Foundation Director Donna Vucinich thanked Earl Okawa and other leaders of JASH and the Crown Prince Akihito Scholarship Foundation for scholarships to UH students.
